Activities

The covid-19 pandemic restrained me like everyone else and I had to curtail significantly my activities since 2019. I stopped altogether attending professional conferences. Nevertheless, I maintained my activity as a writer and I have attended also a number of meetings held remotely, with the help of Zoom or similar software.

Being interviewed on salt for the BBC radio show, The Food Chain, aired on June 21st.
Preparing a contribution on Joseph-Achille Le Bel for the sesquicentennial celebration of his joint establishment, with J. H. van’t Hoof, of stereochemistry.
Preparing a lecture, to be presented in Conques, on September 22nd: the topic is plants encountered along the trail to Santiago de Compostela, their edibility or toxicity and their beneficial for one’s health assets.
Reviewing manuscripts for scholarly journals.
Writing portraits of Polytechnique alumni for La Jaune et la Rouge.
Preparing a collection of these portraits, produced during the last 10 years, for their publication in book form and in bilingual (French and English) edition, to appear in 2024.
Preparing an Opinion piece, to be written jointly with Anne-Sophie Bordry, for publication in a majour French newpaper or weekly magazine.
Writing a more-or-less weekly chronicle for my children and grandchildren.
