Salt Notes : health connotations
In the Latin language, the words for “health” and “healthy,” viz. salus and
salubris, respectively derive from the name for salt, sal. Derivatives in the
various Romance languages, such as salud (Spanish) or salut (French) are
testimony to this salty origin.
